The Colleges in Jamaica
-providing 1st world quality education.

We have a number of distinguished universities and colleges in Jamaica. Thanks to the vision of those who were looking decades and centuries down the road.

Colleges in Jamaica - NCU College Graduation

I myself is very humbled and appreciative to be able to say I am a beneficiary of such forward thinking. I started my studies with the University of the West Indies, but completed with Northern Caribbean University - two of the most popular and prestigious in the island.

Here is a condensed list of some of our most respected local universities & colleges in Jamaica:

In this era of rapid change and globalization, we have seen quite a surge in colleges and universities targeting our locals.

Many these offer courses online, but a number of them have literally set up local offices in strategic areas of the island as well.

Some have also created associations and partnerships with local institutions. Nova University, is one that comes to mind quite quickly. And bear in mind that these are not only American universities either. Of note as well is RDI, an international agency that provides links to various English based universities.

What is clear is that our local universities now have much stronger competition, but kudos to them, they have done their retooling where necessary and now are even stronger. Some have already equipped themselves with some of the latest technology in the business.

I am not sure if you knew this, but our colleges continues to see increasing numbers of Caribbean and international students enrolling as well, and please don't assume it is only because of the beautiful climate or the relative affordability of the programs, (I saw a report that our tuition cost is approximately 70% of US institutions) a large part of it is the good quality of the programs!

They offer some of the very best programs anywhere in the world and so I am not too surprise of the ratings we get for the successes from our education system. Considering our ever limited resources, this is highly commendable.

More to come to colleges in Jamaica, so don't stay too far. In the meantime though, please take a look at these related pages!
