Beach Day In Jamaica
Contest Entry #042 - Beach Day Fun In Jamaica
We went to Jamaica in November 2011 for my husband's 60th birthday, we stayed at Yellow Bird Resort in Negril.
Our visit to this resort started out a bit rough; even though we had booked 3 months ahead the room was dirty with no bedding on the bed after a long day of traveling - we were quite disappointed.
The manager of the resort however assigned a lovely lady named Carlene to look after our room to keep it tidy and nice for us.
Every day she even put flowers in our room and looked after us beautifully during our whole visit. Carlene helped turn what could have been a very disappointing visit to a wonderful, memorable experience!
When we visit Jamaica we like to have a special Beach Day and picnic with our grand children, their parents and our Jamaican neighbors. When we found out that Carlene has two children we asked her if they would like to join us for Beach Day.
The inflatable beach toys we brought with us were put to good use by all of the children, one of the pictures is of Carlene's two children thoroughly enjoying each other, a beach ball and a day I hope they will always remember.
Unfortunately Yellow Bird Resort doubled their prices in 2012 so we were unable to stay there when we returned to Negril in September 2012, we did check in on Carlene though and took her a copy of the picture of her two children and some other gifts that we hope she is still enjoying.
I have also attached a picture of an inflatable Orca enjoying the attentions of our two grand daughters on this same day.
Beach Days spent with them after being so far away from them most of the time while they grow up are special memorable times for us and I hope our visits are creating lasting memories for them.
We live in Ontario, Canada and we often talk to our 3 grand children on the phone but nothing can take place of these fun times we have with them while visiting Jamaica.
Our grand son who had never met us prior to this visit was very shy when we arrived, the day we left after enjoying a Beach Day and other days together he ran to me saying "Grandma, Grandma, Beach! Beach!"
It was so wonderful to hear him say that.
We are looking forward to our next visit, perhaps early 2014. Another Beach Day in the plans? Of course!
