My Jamaican-ness by Chinnel Flowers

Jamaica is my home town and throughout my 19 years that I’ve been living here.

I travelled out of Jamaica once to St. Maarten at age 9 came back to Jamaica at age 13. Ever since then my mom has been wanting me to come back to St. Maarten, but I’m just not interested; I love my country Jamaica ‘out of many one people’.

Jamaica is a beautiful place everyone wants to come here, most people should just stop for a minute when travelling thru Jamaica and look and they would see that Jamaica is paradise.

It hurts me to watch the news, and it hurts me to see that foreigners come here and make a living and most Jamaicans are out of a job.

They cry saying the government not making jobs available but they should look around most of these supermarkets and stores are owned by the Chinese migrants, if they came here and accomplish that then we could have.

If foreigners can come to our beautiful Jamaica and be successful and can do; we don't' have to stay poor.

I want to travel the world but I want accomplish everything I want right here in Jamaica before I do.

Jamaica has lovely beaches and rivers, my favorite beach is DEAD END beach that's in Montego Bay and Dunn’s River Falls. My favorite river in Jamaica is Caymanas River, that's in Kingston.

I love my Jamaica and I can't blame foreigners for loving it too :-),

MY SWEET SWEET JAMAICA, FILLED WITH WONDERFUL AND CONFUSED BEAUTIFUL ADORABLE PEOPLE OF ALL RACES AND COLOURS. MOST OF THEM MAY NOT COME FROM HERE BUT WE ARE ONE.
