Keeping the focus on Jesus
by: Anonymous

Recently I ministered some advice to one of my relatives who is having problems and when I received your email today I felt God telling me to also share it with you and those who read this comments section. So below I am taking the liberty to do so....

Keep your focus on Jesus, God, His word, Bible stories, prayer, Christian TV or radio., anything but you and your problems. He Himself is your solution to all of your life's problems.

When Jesus called Peter to walk out onto the water with Him, He did it in the dark in the midst of a storm. By faith Peter walked right over that storm in his life with Jesus. But when he looked at the storm and took his eyes off of Jesus, the storm in his life almost drowned him. As long as he kept his focus on Jesus, Peter walked right over his problem but when he shifted his focus to his problem, he sank down into it and almost died in it.

Notice that Jesus did not call him to walk on calm water in the daytime, only on difficult stormy water in the dark.

Matthew 14 Walking on the Water

22-23 As soon as the meal was finished, Jesus insisted that the disciples get in the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he dismissed the people. With the crowd dispersed, he climbed the mountain so he could be by himself and pray. He stayed there alone, late into the night.

24-26 Meanwhile, the boat was far out to sea when the wind came up against them and they were battered by the waves. At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared out of their wits. "A ghost!" they said, crying out in terror.

27 But Jesus was quick to comfort them. "Courage, it’s me. Don’t be afraid."

28 Peter, suddenly bold, said, "Master, if it’s really you, call me to come to you on the water."

29-30 He said, "Come ahead." Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus. But when he looked down at the waves churning beneath his feet, he lost his nerve and started to sink. He cried, "Master, save me!"

31 Jesus didn’t hesitate. He reached down and grabbed his hand. Then he said, "Faint of heart, what got into you?"

32-33 The two of them climbed into the boat, and the wind died down.

So keep your faith up brother, in spite of all of the difficulties in your life that Satan is using to assail you. Focus on Jesus and Jesus alone and you will walk right over all of them. Believe that He Himself is the miracle we all need everyday to solve all our problems and gradually, with time, He will do so.

Wellesley,
My daughter is the director in charge of the APPLETON RUM TOUR, in St. Elizabeth.

You probably know about this wonderful service?
It takes guests, local and foreign, through the making of SUGAR, MOLASSES, and RUM.

Three years ago, I had the pleasure of going through that delightful and educational experience.

So nice to hear from you.

Ron Taylor.

Wellesley's Response
Hi Ron,
Really? Thanks for the feedback my friend. I am thinking to going up there, so I'll be sure to let her know we are buddies.

We Love Jamaica!
by: Gregory Smith

Hi Wellesley,

I’ve been blessed to have traveled to Jamaica 3 times over the last five years.

A group of friends had been once several years back and after seeing their pictures and videos and hearing how nice the people were I made sure I got in on the next trip. That first trip had 10 people.

Five years later the group has grown to 24! We always stay at the Iberostar Resort in Montego Bay where the staff, food and overall experience is second to none.

We love the staff there and look forward to seeing them each trip. They even gave me a name "Lost Dog". The name has something to do with too much rum and wandering the beach! LOL.

I enjoy the newsletter and appreciate your efforts to keep us updated with all the happenings on our favorite island.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to stopping in and paying you guys a visit during our next trip.

One Love!
Gregory Smith
Memphis, TN

Wellesley's Note

Hi Greg,
The pleasure is mine bro. I look forward to meeting you on one of the trips my friend.

Jamaica, Land We Love!
by: John Blenkiron

Wellesley, through your newsletter Jamaica reaches out to the world as a friend. Those who come from abroad can gain real insights to the heart and soul of Jamaica before they even set foot on its wonderful shores as visitors. Those Jamaicans working and studying abroad can maintain an intimate connection with their homeland and keep up with what's happening "a yahd". Those living in Jamaica use it to share experiences, exchange ideas, and promote a country for which they have a great deal of pride; a pride that is richly deserved.

As a cultural ambassador to the world on behalf of Jamaica you do a lot greater service than you may realize. Your efforts are well appreciated. Thank you!

Jamaica is not safe
by: Anonymous

Crime doesn't stay in the Garrisons, it comes pretty close to tourist resorts from my own experiences. Everyone trying to shake you down.

I love Jamaica, but crime is a major issue. Colouring it with beatiful descriptive language. The real statistics should be told. You will not rid pockets if crime by falsification of facts. Don't encourage people to come and place themselves in jeopardy. You shouldn't have to hire security to have a party. Uninvited guest show up with weapons. That's Crazy!!

I'm looking forward to my own holiday in the paradise in a few months. I can never get enough of Jamaica. The people, food and culture just consume me and each time it gets harder and harder to leave!

I just wanted to thank you for the great work you're doing and offer words of encouragement to keep it up.
