The Stately...
Royal Plantation Jamaica Hotel

Royal Plantation Jamaica Hotel, contributed by Tracie Blake

The Royal Plantation hotel, located in Ocho Rios, is indeed royal- I mean it; the service, food and amenities are second to none!

You feel truly special from the minute you enter the premises. In fact, every guest is welcomed with a sugar cane drink and a cold towel!

This serene sanctuary was built in the 1950s and is a small 77-suite resort on 3 floors spread out over 2 private white sand beaches. It sits 25 feet above sea level and gives its visitors ocean view from every suite.

Its seclusion makes it a very popular resort for honeymoon couples and romantic getaways. As is customary with small Resorts, guests are afforded the privilege of being given personalized attention and service.

The Royal Plantation Resort was recently renovated and fitted anew with Italian Linen sheets, mahogany furniture and king-sized beds. They are complete with air conditioner, in-room bar, sitting and dining area and marble bath and shower.

The VIP suites host a separate driveway with stone walkway, private pool and private well manicured garden.

Guests of this luxurious resort can choose between an All-Inclusive and a European Plan package. And whatever your language, chances are that one of their trained multi-lingual staff members fluent in various languages can assist you.

The Royal Plantation offers daily continental breakfast, Jamaican hot chocolate and afternoon tea on your terrace. Just let the staff know your preference and it will be honored.

If you would prefer your entire meal in your room, just call room service and you will be served within 20 minutes of placing the order.

If you would prefer to dine out, there are 3 gourmet restaurants with a-la-carte dining options. You can also enjoy some caviar and sip some champagne while watching the chefs prepare Caribbean Meals by the main Terrace.

This small Resort boasts an East and a West Beach. The East beach is secluded where couples are given their privacy to bask in each other’s company all day long.

The West Beach is buzzing with activities which include a Butler Service where you are supplied with drinks all day long. If you would like a meal brought to you on the Beach also, they will be happy to do that for you.

For those of you who would like more than a tan, there is scuba diving, snorkeling, boating and sailing activities readily available.

Spa services are also available from the cozy Spa which offers marbled treatment rooms, lemon grass scent ambiance, hydro therapeutic baths, steam baths, body wraps, saunas, massages, manicures and pedicures. Adjacent to the Spa, you will find fitness centre, tennis court, steam room and sauna.
