All-Inclusive Resorts In Kingston | by Sheree-Anita Shearer, Associate Writer
All-inclusive accommodations are popular because of all the perks included for one set price. Are there any all-inclusive resorts in Kingston?
All-Inclusives are the most popular type of accommodation whenever people travel. There are all-inclusive options for families, adults-only, partiers or those who would like a relaxing, retreat-like vacation. There is an all-inclusive almost everywhere that is suited for any style of vacation you may want.
Unfortunately, this does not include Kingston, Jamaica. To date, there are no all-inclusive resorts Kingston and this is due to a host of reasons.
Firstly, Kingston is a very commercially driven city that focuses mainly on business and tourism is almost on the back burner. The city is not always the first choice for vacationers who come for sun, sand and sea. Instead, Kingston is frequented by business people who wouldn’t necessarily be on the resort’s property to take advantage of the all-inclusive perks.
It is mainly for business meetings and functions centred around businesses. Now don’t get me wrong, there is still much to enjoy on a vacation in Kingston. But most resorts will cater to their most popular customers which in this case are businesspeople.
Also, all-inclusive resorts are designed in such a way that you don’t have to leave the resort if you really don’t want to. And with their many pools, restaurants and sources of entertainment it is sometimes hard to get guests of any all-inclusive resort to leave the property and enjoy more of the actual country they are in.
Kingston is a city that was made to be explored, as the birthplace of Reggae music, there are many places you must visit including museums, galleries, parks and niche attractions such as Mash It Rage Room.
One of the main attractions of an all-inclusive is the unlimited food and drink it provides. Well, in Kingston, you will never come up short on dining options. Whether your tastes are more refined and you prefer a fine dining experience or you have specific dietary requirements and need to find vegan options, this and everything in between is available in Kingston.
There are so many restaurants, lounges and bars to choose from that touring the city is way more appealing than staying on the property all the time. Plus dining is not overly expensive in Kingston. You will definitely be able to find something that suits your budget.
Most resorts in Kingston will offer continental meal plans or complimentary breakfasts but there really is no need for an all-inclusive plan.
While there are no all-inclusive resorts in Kingston as you had hoped, there are hotels there that I’m sure will be able to deliver on all your other requirements for a fun vacation.
There are many hotels in Kingston, these are just a few of the many options to choose from.
Luxury/Business Options In The City
Kingston is the best at giving you the best of both worlds as it relates to exploring many different versions of Jamaica at once. If you want to experience the fast-paced city life, where there is always something to do then it is right there at your fingertips.
But, if there are days when you would love to visit somewhere a little more casual and adventurous like Ocho Rios with its many attractions or somewhere a little more relaxing and simply beautiful, the parish of Portland is a mere 2hrs away.
You may not even have to leave Kingston for respite from the hustle of the city. There are also many hotels to retreat to in the mountains above the capital of Jamaica.
