Is Ocho Rios good for families?

Yes, it is! Jamaica is just as much for honeymooning couples as it is for a vacation filled with family fun. The town of Ocho Rios on the northern coast of Jamaica has quite a few resorts prepared to give you just that. These are the family resorts in Ocho Rios.

1. Moon Palace

Is Moon Palace Jamaica good for kids?

Moon Palace is definitely good for kids and has been a go-to spot for vacationing families since it was named Sunset Jamaica Grande. With over 700 rooms in 10 categories, you can find the best rooms and suites to suit your family’s needs.

In addition to the warm, captivating Caribbean Sea there are pools around the property including designated kiddie pools for a safer experience for the children. They did not stop at the pool for children however, your children can roam freely in the playroom, under the watchful eyes of the attendants of course.

Because touring Jamaica should be at the top of your list, especially in Ocho Rios, you can book one of the resort’s curated trips into Jamaica for some of our favourite excursions.

And as with all-inclusive resorts, there is no room for hunger. These 7 amazing restaurants serve up Asian, Italian, International and of course, Jamaican cuisine. And for the late nights, a snack menu is available from 10:30 pm - 6:00 am. All this is conveniently available on the Moon Palace app.

And for the babies, there is a nutritious puree menu available in the app as well.

A little fun fact. If you are a James Bond fan, then you'll excited to know that this hotel was where the cast and crew stayed while filming in Jamaica for, Dr. No. The 007 helipad is on the property still where the helicopter would take the cast to and from the shooting locations.

2. Hibiscus Lodge Hotel

The town of Ocho Rios is a town of wonder and Hibiscus Lodge promises unrivalled service and memorable moments. The 26-room boutique resort is perfect for families who would prefer to have a more understated and secluded vacation. Your tastefully decorated room will be located on the lush tropical grounds on the cliffs above the Caribbean Sea.

2. Riu Ocho Rios

This hotel is one of Riu’s family resorts in Jamaica. The entertainment programme for adults and children is quite expensive, so you or your children will never be bored. In addition to the 5 swimming pools, there is a children’s pool with slides and the Splash Water World waterpark.

When it comes to dining, there are main and themed restaurants that serve Jamaican and International cuisine. To keep up with your fitness regimen you can visit the gym on the property and then head to the steam bath for a relaxing period.

Hermosa Cove

Hermosa Cove is a collection of Villas spread across 12 acres with varying levels of accommodation. They have conventional lodgings with standard rooms as well as a treehouse villa for those who are hoping to be more in tune with nature.

For dining options you can visit the two restaurants on the property, or set up your own culinary experience which includes, cooking with the chef, dining on the beach or dining at your villa. Outside of these options, you can visit exquisite local restaurants and eateries for a taste of what Ochi has to offer.
