Or for others, it might just be that you prefer to stay in the popular resorts for the many great amenities you have heard about. Either way, there are so many popular Jamaican resorts, you will be swimming in decisions.

Negril

Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa offerings the best in luxurious lodgings while on the famed Seven Mile Beach.

With 9 bars and 7 restaurants on the property and exchange privileges with the nearby Beaches resort, you are in for a gastronomic explosion where you’ll experience the best of local and international fare.

3. Couples Resorts

Couples has two resorts in Negril, Couples Negril and Couples Swept Away. Couples Negril is more secluded than Couples Swept Away which is the largest Couples' resort on the island.

Both hotels are located on Norman Manley Boulevard and have similar facilities including, restaurants, bars, fitness centres, swimming pools, jacuzzis and spas.

4. Beaches

The playground for kids and adults alike, Beaches has thought of everything a family would need on a vacation. You will have access to nannies, kids' clubs and the amazing water slide that capture the attention of even adults. The kids will also get to hang out with the Sesame Street team at the afternoon parade.

The hotel was updated most recently in 2020, so the accommodations and amenities are new and improved.

5. The Caves

Royalton Resorts has both a family-friendly and adults-only option; Royalton Negril and The Hideaway at Royalton. Royalton Negril is equipped to handle families of any size with a daunting 407 rooms, 7 bars, 9 restaurants, a splash park for kids, swimming pools and a sports centre.

The “Hideaway” is perfect for just that. Enjoy a getaway with those closest to you to rest and recharge. It is the smallest of all the Royalton Resorts in Jamaica so if running into many persons is what’s stopping you from booking your trip then you needn’t worry. If that alone isn’t enough to convince you then maybe the 13 bars, 11 restaurants, swimming pools and sports and fitness.

7. Hedonism II

This is the adult-only, clothing-optional resort in Negril. On Hedo II, located in Negril, Jamaica, is an adult’s paradise where your vacation can be as mild or wild as you wish.

In addition to the nude and prude beaches, you can go scuba diving, have fantastic meals, head for a spa day or wait until evening for the daily entertainment.

And with a 70% return guest occupancy the chances of your return are incredibly high.

Hedo Weedo, the medicinal marijuana dispensary is also located on the property.

Montego Bay

8. Sandals

Sandals has not one but 3 resorts in Montego Bay.

Sandals Montego Bay is the flagship resort and has continued to premiere innovative accommodations and wedding ceremony options over the years. The restaurants and swim-up bars and rooms have always been a hit.

Sandals Royal Caribbean has amazing amenities on the main property but for a little extra flamboyance book an overwater butler-level suite on the private island, Sandals Cay.

Sandals Inn is the smaller of the three and doesn’t have as many amenities as the others. However, staying at any Sandals resort in Montego Bay gives you access to all properties in the area.

9. Secrets Resorts

Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchid are both in Montego Bay. Both resorts are adults only and guests have unrestricted access to each hotel and all the restaurants, bars and amenities available.

10. Riu

Riu has 3 resorts in Montego Bay, Riu Reggae, Riu Palace and Riu Montego Bay. All three are adults only and have many amenities and types of accommodation to make your stay memorable. Riu Reggae is also directly across from Whitter Village shopping centre, so getting your memorabilia when it is time to return home won’t be much of an issue.

11. Jewel Grande

Hilton Rose Hall is a family-choice hotel, the slide is always a favourite for kids and parents often bring their children here even for a day as it is usually where parents and kids can have equal amounts of appropriate fun.

13. Half Moon Golf Resort

One of the largest hotels in Jamaica, Grand Bahia has 407 rooms. The large hotel has the makings for an exciting family vacation with bars, pools, slides, watersports and many other activities galore.

If a luxurious trip away from the children is what you are looking for, head to the neighbouring Grand Bahia Luxury instead.
