Visit the rural area and also a local Jamaican library

I will be visiting the southeast coast with my husband for the third time next week. I wanted to tell you that I took your advice on a previous trip and visited a school there and brought the children some school supplies. I thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of their happy faces. I love them all!!
I would like to add another suggestion for visiting in the rural areas: go to the library. Libraries are staffed with the nicest people. I even went to lunch with a young man who worked there.
He showed me around the main shopping area so I could buy some souvenirs. He selected a cab driver to return me to the hotel. I felt perfectly safe the whole time.
I was based near Morant Bay and will be returning to the same area again. What do you suggest I do (I've been to the Bath area, but not to the zoological garden there)to expand my horizons and experiences? I don't want to venture too far from the hotel.(FYI: I am an older woman...)
