The Dolphin Cove Attraction
-Top Marine Attraction in JA!

Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios Jamaica

If you are coming to Jamaica, the Dolphin Cove attraction is a must see! Dunn's River Falls may well be the most popular attraction in Jamaica now, but this relatively new attraction is buzzing!

Increasingly, more and more of our visitors are zooming into this unique adventure, and the reviews have been nothing less than great! It is a great family adventure where you can experience the excitement and thrill of interacting with bottlenose dolphins.

At Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios, the friendly mammals are the main source of fun, excitement and entertainment. Persons have the opportunity to swim and play with the dolphins.

Two forms of play are the dorsal pull and the foot push, depending on the trainer's instruction. Then there are waving, splashing, swimming, playing, kissing and touching. Children can go into knee deep water, while adults can go in a little deeper.

The frolic is supported by a Jamaican-style all you can eat buffet lunch.

There are several packages on offer for you:

  • The "Touch" Program
  • The "Encounter Swim" with the dolphins
  • The "Swim With" the dolphins
  • The Swim, Hold and Feed the Sharks &
  • Be the "Sea Keeper For a Day"

The attraction is not only about dolphins and sharks anyways. This magnificent property also has a natural cove which is surrounded by 4 acres of lush tropical rain forest. According to the VP or marketing- quoted by Irene Rose from the Jamaica Information service:

"We operate a nature walk, where you can interact with other animals such as the donkey, goat, sheep, the Iguana lizard, Jamaican yellow snake, turtles, ducks, birds, as well as the conch. You can meet them, talk with them and feel them, and as part of this walk, we have also created a coffee plantation, giving our visitors the history of coffee in Jamaica".

She pointed out that a cove has also been created where "visitors can relax and enjoy themselves with our local dance - the limbo, reggae and calypso, and they can taste our local Jamaican rum and our best liqueurs, get to feel and learn our language (patois), and we give them a little talk on our beach wear and music".

Dolphin Cove, also has a wide variety of dolphin souvenirs and unique Jamaican art and craft, in addition to videos of dolphin experiences on sale. The attraction opens from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. everyday and is just walking distance from the famous Dunn's River Falls!

I have to agree with them, Dolphin Cove is clearly Jamaica’s number one marine attraction.
